Freedom
"In my anguish I cried to the Lord, and he answered by setting me free. The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?" Psalm 118:5-6
For everything that we carry to Him in our anguish he will give us freedom. During those times when we are so broken that words cannot describe he is there offering protection and freedom.
Freedom from . . . pain, anxiety,insecurities,doubt,joylessness,shame,disgrace,the broken heart,darkness,grief,despair,failure.
All we have to do is ask. And by his grace he will give us Freedom. During the last few days we have all prayed for one young lady that needed to be reminded of God's grace and his love and the freedom that he gives. Most of the time for these kids it is difficult for them to comprehend that God forgives that he gives freedom because this is their world.
But by believing in and trusting God they can have this instead . . . "The spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lords's favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of the splendor. Isaiah 61:1-3 and then they can have.
